no less a car than Steve McQueen’s 1970 Porsche 911S, once owned by the King of Cool himself, and which he drove in the famous opening sequence of the Le Mans film, as ‘Michael Delaney’ cruises through the French countryside, reflecting on life, death, and racing.

５月開催のRMオークションで、世界で最も有名な1970年モデル・ポルシェ９１１Ｓが出品されることが決まったそうです。

そのポルシェ９１１Ｓとは、映画「栄光のル・マン」のオープニングでスティーブ・マックイーンが乗っていた９１１Ｓです。

この車両はもちろん当時マックイーン本人が所有していたポルシェだそうです。カラーはSlate Greyでポルシェファクトリーオプションのエアコンが装備。

本来クラッシックカーで重要なポイントであるレースヒストリーとはまた少し違ったヒストリーですが、このポルシェ９１１Ｓは究極の1台だと思います。
